Rent out your tools, instruments, camping gear... basically anything that you have lying around your house.
OpenShed is a great way to rent out anything you don't use much, but think others may find them useful.
Do you have tools, musical instruments, baby gear, appliances... anything like this lying around your home?
You can rent them out on OpenShed.
Now it probably won't make you a millionaire, but you'll be doing good in the world AND earning some extra pocket money at the same time!
To get started, all you need to do is to sign up with an OpenShed account, then list any items you'd like to rent out.
Upload the name of the item, description, set your price, what kind of damage cover you'd like to charge and of course your photos, then list away.
If someone wants to rent from you, you will receive a message from OpenShed with a request for a booking.
You set your price, and receive this minus a small transaction fee.
The Open Shed message is simple:
We CAN make use of the latest gadgets, still have exciting life experiences and de-clutter our lives at the same time through sharing what we have with other people. We CAN make a difference through being smart about our consumption.
What began as an idea that touched two people is now their very own ethical, environmental, practical and super fun start-up. Built to be a sustainable business, Open Shed only take a small percentage of each successful rental transaction so as to cover costs associated with building, running and maintaining the site. And as passionate supporters of this growing movement, Lisa and Duncan actively seek opportunities to get the word out about other collaborative consumption ideas, sustainable businesses and ways to help the community continue to grow through sharing.
We'll be adding more and more content over time, including stories, interviews, tips & tricks for each opportunity.
